Abstract:
Geronimo, a wealthy citizen of Bologna, attemps to marry his daughter Elisetta to an English lord, Count Robinson. But the count prefers Geronimo's other daughter, Carolina, who is secretly married to Paolino, a young lawyer and business associate of Geronimo. Geronimo's sister Fidalma is herself in love with Paolino. Carolina and Paolino plan to elope. After a bedroom scene of mistaken identities, all ends happily with the Count agreeing to marry Elisetta.
